Visual Communication
Module learning outcomes:
- Apply design principles in developing visual concepts.
- Use appropriate technologies to create promotional material for a product.
- Communicate conceptual ideas through visual & creative material in response to a specific brief.
- Apply professional standards to the creation of visual work.
This assignment came with a commercial brief from the ‘client’, who was Leeds Central Library. The purpose of the brief was to:
- A new visual identity for the client
- incl. Logo design
- A campaign to support a new event launch
The Campaign
My campaign was an interactive dinosaur exhibition aimed at children to encourage families to enter the library. This would be done by finding a series of posters around the city in the vicinity of the library, scanning the QR codes found on the posters brought up an informative screen teaching the child about the dinosaur. The last dinosaur to be found was in the children’s section of the library.
