Interactive Media Design
Module learning outcomes:
- Produce informed and clear formal documentation to show interactivity.
- Apply principles of HCI and user-interface design in creating usable user interfaces.
- Use appropriate programming languages to create interactivity.
- Design and prepare media to professional formats for inclusion in interactive products.
The brief was to build an interactive learning tool for a specific school age range, the content had to be in keeping with the national curriculum. The purpose of the brief was to:
- In the first half of the module I had to plan the interactive using techniques developed in the fields of User Experience (UX) and User Centred Design (UCD). I developed skills in jQuery and CSS.
- In the second half of the module I built the interactive whilst continuing to develop my authoring skills.

My game was aimed at Key stage 1 children, who are five to seven year olds. The aim was to create an interactive game teaching my target audience about the seasons. All the assets were created by myself as well as the coding. These designs were improved when building the actual game.
