UFO Animation

This is the first of (hopefully), many quick creations, conceived and executed within the span of a single Sunday. I found joy in the process, beginning with the humble act of crumpling a piece of paper and transforming it into a mesmerising loop through a few rotated instances. Adding depth and texture, I crafted a grainy overlay to lend a touch of authenticity to the scene.

The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the UFO, brought to life with dynamic animation that imbued it with the illusion of zooming off into the unknown depths of space. Utilising a clipping mask, I deftly fashioned a beam of ice lollies, injecting a playful whimsy into the composition. As the project unfolded, each element seamlessly intertwined, culminating in a creation that spoke volumes about my passion for experimentation and my unyielding dedication to the craft.

Background

Using nothing more than an A4 sheet of paper, I embarked on a journey of creative exploration, scrunching it up and rotating it in a loop to craft a mesmerising visual effect.

Illustrated assets

All of the design work, the UFO, ice creams and ice lollies were created in Adobe Illustrator. The animation was created in Adobe After effects.
